Lawnserve treats tired, weed infested grass areas, transforming them into lawns you can be proud of.

Our simple lawn care services, which will in most cases cost you less than DIY, are administered by trained, uniformed operatives.

Lawnserve can tailor an annual lawn treatment programme to suit your needs. The treatment programme required by your lawn may vary depending on the type of lawn and its condition.
See below for details of a typical example of an annual treatment programme:

We have developed 2 main treatment programmes as follows:

Spring Treatment

  • Spring nutrient application
  • Weed control
  • Mosskiller (as needed)
Early Summer Treatment

  • Summer nutrient application
  • Weed control
Summer Treatment

  • Summer nutrient application
  • Follow up weed control
Autumn/Winter Treatment

  • Root development nutrient
  • Follow-up weed killer application
  • Moss control (as needed)

In addition to the benefits derived from the core service, virtually all lawns can be significantly enhanced by the following routines and treatments:

Hollow-Tine Aeration (late winter/early spring)

By removing thousands of cores from the lawn, soil compaction is reduced. Hollow-tine aeration allows the roots to spread, enabling them to receive the necessary air, moisture and nutrients. Aeration is the most effective means of reducing sub-surface thatch and allows the plant to benefit fully from further treatments.

Scarification (spring or autumn)

Scarification treats the cause, not just the symptoms, of a moss-ridden lawn by removing thatch. Thinning out the surface thatch increases airflow in the sward, improving the grass plant's growing conditions.  This results in healthier grass which is less prone to fungal attack.  This rigorous treatment also allows more moisture to reach the root zone, thereby keeping the grass plant hydrated.  By splitting the stolons and allowing new shoot growth, scarification also creates a thicker, healthier lawn.

Dry Patch Treatment (spring)

During spells of limited rainfall in late spring and summer lawns can develop unsightly brown patches, known as “dry patch”.  This can be rectified by copious amounts of watering using a sprinkler.

Dry patch is caused when the soil becomes "hydrophobic", which means that it is repelling water. The Lawnserve preventative measure against the formation of dry patch involves the application of a wetting agent during spring, which gets into the rootzone of the turf. The result is that the grass utilises the available water far more effectively, making dry patch much less likely.

Less Cut Treatment (spring/summer)

In spring, lawns can grow rapidly, resulting in more frequent mowing for those few months of the year. In addition, if you are away from home for holidays or business trips during the grass growing season it can be onerous to return to long grass. Our "Lesscut" solution reduces the extent of vertical growth, diverting the growth into the root system. The result is a thicker, healthier sward that is better equipped to withstand temperature extremes, moisture loss and wear.

The core and enhanced programmes are of benefit to virtually all lawns. In addition, we provide selective services to deal with specific lawn problems that can occur from time to time including leatherjackets, chafer grubs, red thread and fairy ring.
